Pathway to Equilibrium

With my work the narrative comes from the process of painting itself. With hindsight I’ve noticed how my work follows my emotions intuitively as time goes on.
Like dreams that can be deciphered afterwards these paintings reflect my emotional state and how I am trying to form meaning to my life and work.
I had been looking at the landscape around me as if it were in many ways too familiar. A sameness that makes you want to travel or change your mindset. The environment of discord and disharmony which is prevalent in world events and at a personal level with relationships is in there.
Pops of colour are desperate attempts to regain beauty and move back towards a tranquil meditative state of beauty and equilibrium. The inspiration to make marks and decisions in the paintings seem comparable to making decisions moving through life to reach the perfect place of balance, when you stand back and know what you are looking at has worked.
